Welcome to our family Sarah, Jason, Lisa, Matt, Jonathan, and Hope!
You may or may not have known that January 12 was the day, the liturgical calendar, on which we celebrate Jesus’s baptism. Well at Pasadena Mennonite we celebrated with a baptism of our own and the welcoming of six new members into our family. It was a wonderful occasion where we all remembered our baptisms and the commitment that we have to each other as a community.
Here is an excerpt from our common baptism/membership confession:
Today we remember our baptism
Our union with Christ in his life, death, and resurrection
We confess that we are baptized as children of God
whose love precedes and supersedes our ability to be loved.
We commit to live out our baptism,
to accept God’s healing Spirit
to pick up our crosses daily,
and to use our gifts for the building of God’s family
and for humble service to the world.
