The Color of Racism and the Color of Baptism

Illustration by Linnie Z, from The New York Times, March 5, 2017.

On February 16th, with Black History Month in mind, Rob Muthiah spoke about the history of the white church in relation to racism. Time after time, the white church could have acted differently…but it didn’t. Why? Rob suggests that it is because the church in this country has been baptized into a colorized racist paradigm. But there is a different type of baptismal consciousness also available to the church today if we will but have eyes to see and ears to hear.

Rob expands on the color of racism, and the mixed identity available to us in baptism. Hear more in the audio below.
